TERRY SINICROPI WINS 5TH PLACE!06/20/2009 11:06:48 AM
First I have to start by apologizing to Terry and Joe for not having posted this sooner. This is the biggest news we've had in the league since I've been here. For no reason other than being inept at updating the website, I did not get this up when it should have. I will be working hard to keep this site up to date and bring forward news of the league. Again, my apologies to the Sinicropis and their friends.

Terry Sinicropi takes 5th place at the APA National Singles Tournament in Las Vegas!!!

Never in a million years would Terry Sinicropi have thought she was in for the ride of here life when she won her 9-Ball spot to go to Las Vegas in Utica last year. This "roller coaster" as she calls it was the APA National Singles Championship at the Riviera Hotel & Casino.

She had her work cut out for her after a humbling 3rd round defeat (25-14) putting Terry in the losers bracket. Terry didn't give up, she came back the next day to beat several green tier players putting her in the 10th round quarter finals where she was eventually defeated 25-23, putting an end to this wild ride and knocking her out of the tournament.

Although Terry was happy to end up 5th in the country at the APA National Singles Championship, she says it was a "bitter sweet" ending. "Losing 25-23 in the last match was a tough loss". Terry scratched twice on the break while sinking 2 balls each time. "The balls just didn't roll my way" Terry said.

5th place cash & prizes totalled over $1,500 including a Signature APA 9 Ball Cuetec Cue. Terry plays at Diamond Eight Billiards in the Sunday Double Jeopardy division and hopes the new cue (and a lot of practice) will help improve her game for next year!

Congratulations Terry on a great run!

Thanks to Matt McPhail for showing me how to upload pictures!

2009 MEMBERSHIP INCREASE REMINDER01/12/2009 3:34:58 PM
Membership Fee to Increase $5 in 2009
Over the past 15 years, the price of consumer products and services has skyrocketed. In 1993, a gallon of gas averaged $111, a postage stamp cost $0.29, and the average price for a new home was $147,000. My how things change! One thing that hasn't changed since 1993 is the cost of your APA membership. That's right, for the past 15 years the cost of an APA membership has remained exactly the same - $20!

Beginning in 2009, however, the price of an APA membership will increase to $25 per year. This nominal increease is necessary in order to continue to provide our members the absolute best benefits and services. The increase in your membership fee will also bring additional services to you as an APA member. Next year, we hope to be able to process membership renewals online via credit card. We also plan to provide an online member login that will allow you to access your statistics, standings and schedules. We hope you'll agree that this increase is minimal compared to the exciting new member benefits and services we have planned!
